We were very excited about the opening of our second centre in
January 2009. Mama Bear Child Care Centre is a Christian Centre
where we strive to create a safe, warm and healthy homely
environment for the personal care and education of your
children. Our qualified team of professional staff are caring
individuals who believe in the Centre’s philosophy and the
importance of high level personal teacher interactions.
What has made Barfa Bear special, is that we really are there to
care for and educate your child. Your children’s well-being is
our priority, and the attachments we have made with our families
and children in the past is a culture we call our own – we are
all part of the “BearFamily”. Mama Bear Child Care Centre has
continued that culture; its personalised service and care for
your child is our main concern, after all, we are family!
Whilst our Early Childhood and Pre-school Learning Programs are
the same as those of Barfa Bear, working under the Early Years
Learning Framework (EYLF), encompassing all areas of
development; Physical, Cognitive, Language, Social & Emotional;
we also have a special learning program for our precious Bubba
Cubs, because we believe in an early start to learning and
stimulating through play. All our programs are designed to help
your child develop confidence and social skills, and prepare
them for their future education in Secondary School. They will
encourage your child to develop vital developmental skills by
offering fun, creative, exciting and challenging opportunities
and activities. Our three playrooms will cater for each age
group:

Playroom (0-2yrs)

Teddy & Cubby Bears
(2-4yrs)

Pre-School Cubs (4-5yrs)
As part of our Early Learning Program, you will receive a Mid-Year
Developmental Report, followed by a personal one-on-one
parent/teacher meeting. An Annual Journal is compiled with your
child’s observations, photos & crafts throughout their year at
Mama Bear. It is a lovely reflection on your child’s progress,
interests & abilities, for you to treasure and share in the
future.
Mama Bear Child Care Centre is open from 7.30am – 6.00pm, Monday
to Friday, approx. 50 weeks per year. The Centre is closed on
Public Holidays and over the Christmas/New Years period. Morning
& Afternoon Tea and a nutritious hot Lunch according to our
Healthy Eating Menu, are prepared fresh daily on the premises.
The only thing you’ll need to bring each day is your child’s bag
with change of clothes, a piece of fruit for our Fruit Bowl
(plus 3 nappies should your child not be toilet-trained) – and
of-course, any special item your child feels necessary to keep
with them for sleep time.
Fees are due two weeks in advance at all times, and payments are
made through our Child Care EasyPay direct-debit system. Failure
to comply will result in a review of your child’s position. A
2-week bond is payable upon enrolment & refundable only after
your child commences their enrolment, with all fees paid to date
and a withdrawal notice period of 4 weeks is given. Effective
July 2011, fees are:
• Daily:
• $70 (2yrs to 5yrs)
• $80 (0yrs to 2yrs)
• Initial Registration - $100 (incl. personal pack)
• Enrol Registration - $50
• Late Pick up - $10 per 5 minutes
To claim your Child Care Benefit, call Centrelink-136150. We
recommend this is done before your child commences, so we can
calculate fees for your child’s placement and can advise you of
your exact daily rate.
Parents, we recognize that starting childcare is a difficult
transition - not just for your child, but for you. We strongly
encourage & welcome you to spend time with your child at the
centre before they start. This will help you & your child feel
more comfortable about Mama Bear Child Care Centre, the
environment/equipment, the staff & routines. Our Orientation
Program at Mama Bear has successfully made this transition more
comforting for you and your child – to give them the best start.
You, the parents, are the most important people in your child’s
world – we want you to feel assured when you leave your child
with us that they will be well cared for.
